On March 16th, 2013, the Duke University School of Medicine held its annual Student-Faculty Show entitled “Les Medserables”. Inspired by the musical and recent motion picture, this year’s entirely student-run show offers a musical view at the experiences of a medical student at Duke.
In addition to serving as an outlet for our creative talents, each year’s show and accompanying silent auction raise money for a local charity. This year, the student body selected the Genesis Home. Genesis Home works to end homelessness for families with children in the Durham community by providing housing and supportive services to foster independence. Since opening their doors in 1989, they have enabled hundreds of families to successfully reunite, get off the streets, and live independently. With the money from the Student Faculty Show, Genesis Home will be able to send every school age Genesis Home child to summer camp. This would allow their parents to focus on seeking employment and job training. All net proceeds from ticket sales, silent auction items, and DVD sales will be donated to Genesis Home.
We are no longer accepting pre-orders of the show DVD at this time.
